Instructions STL

11

  1. remove the card representing “you” from the deck and set aside.
  2. shuffle your deck in the usual manner that is most comfortable for you.  It does not matter which deck you use.
  3.  insert  the first row containing cards 1-4.  Place card 5 beneath #1 and add “your” card, continue laying the cards.

Past – Cards 1,5,8

-describe the recent past-the last few days or the recent circumstance around your question.  These cards can reveal your subconscious QUESTION.

Now-Cards 2, YOU (ie Lenormand #29-lady, #28-gentleman), 9

-describe the now-what is going on with you -YOUR THOUGHTS and FEELINGS.

Immediate- Cards 3,6,10

-describe the immediate future, a day or so. These cards will tell you what INFLUENCES to anticipate. [you can change the time frame prior to the shuffle, for example you can designate this spot to mean within 2 weeks]

Soon- Cards 4,7,11

-describe soon, less than a week. It’ll give you an ANSWER  to your question. [you can change this spot to mean within 1 month or 3 months  but it is important to keep that in mind before selecting the cards for the layout]

TRIGGER row – 5, YOU, 6, 7

This row is the essence of the reading, the rest of the cards will describe or explain to you what surrounds them. When you read these cards you will get a good glimpse at the entire layout.  The remaining cards are the details surrounding the TRIGGER cards.

Even though cards 6 & 7 lie in the future, they are the “now” of the future.  Cards 1, 2, 3, 4 are the past cards leading to the TRIGGER cards.  Cards 8, 9, 10, 11 are the “future” or “as the result of the TRIGGER cards.  It is important to remember this when doing this layout.

  1. Dear SQ,

I’m a beginner reader of Lenormand cards. I started readings november last year (2008). I still am trying to get closer and more in touch with the cards. Although my readings for other are somehow scaring me as they are VERY accurate (sometimes i hear after months from my friends that my readings were soo sccurate) YET i still get confused about readings for myself!!

I mostly use the quick Question style, where you place 3 cards Past, present, Future and a 4th card as an advice card.

Today I tried the STL system and my question was regarding my current situation (in general), and this was the outcome which I stood totally helpless not knowing how to interpret it!!

    Past: 10, 21, 33
    Now: 22, 29, 35
    Immediate: 4, 9, 30
    Soon: 31, 17, 13

as you can see, the overall vibe of the cards is positive, yet I still can’t get the meaning of the reading in depth.

My question is, how would you read those cards?

    looking forward for your interpretation!

    The LN cards addict,
    Eva.

  2. Hi Eva,
Thanks for your comment and question. I must have missed your comment as I can see it was back in March. My busy schedule does not permit doing a full reading for readers of my blogs but on occasion I do. I think your cards would no longer be valid at this time. I would be more than happy to interpret up to 3 cards but cannot guarantee a time frame when the post would be completed. Take care. Madame Seaqueen.

  3. Hi Madam Seaqueen,

Thanks for your reply, I fully understand your busy schedule.

Well it’s been a while since March and during the past time I worked a lot on creating a strong connection with the LN cards. I have to admit that I made a very good progress, and everyone I did a reading for was impressed about how accurate it was. But I still (often) come across the same problems:

    1. most times I get to read the spread about the current situation (the present)and not as an answer to my question!

    2. when I use the trigger layout I get the answers through reading the columns horizontally and not vertically!!

    3. some cards meanings are still vague for me in combination with other cards e.g. the Birds, the Cross, the Scythe, the Whip.

I get confused when I have those cards in a combined reading. Maybe you can elaborate a bit more about them.

Thanks for taking the time for answering my questions.

    Take care,
    Eva.

  4. Hello Eva,
Sorry I took so long to answer.
Point 1. Try the Reaction Card Layout to get an a more direct approach to a question. Let me know how you make out.
Point 2. Very good. Reading vertically is one way and horizontally should be incorporated as well to get a fuller reading. If vertical works better for you then stay with it.
Point 3. Yes these 4 cards can pose a challenge. I will write a post about them on the Ask my Cards blog shortly and reference you concerns about them. Here is the link with my answers I posted a few minutes ago , CLICK HERE.
    Warmest regards,
    Madame Seaqueen.
